Presented by ADCD and Impossible, directors Theo Van De Sande, John Bonito and Monty Mira...nda host a special presentation moderated by director Steve Urbano, November 10th at Cassleman’s in Denver. With numerous feature films, documentaries, and commercials under their belt, this panel has more than a few stories to share about their experiences in advertising, script writing, and cinematography. The Sprite Holiday 2-Liter shoot was a huge success! Great resources were pooled from every direction: a magnificent customized kitchen, festively propped by our favorite stylist, and beautifully styled holiday dishes to match. Special thanks to our models for being ready to show more than their hands, and three cheers for a new and wonderful manicurist, Lilly! Thank you Star Group and Coca-Cola for flying all the way out here and staying the extra hours to get the job done. We can't wait for the holiday season to see the final prints in action!

Wrigley's Life Savers Mints took us on one of the best behind-the-scenes adventures to create the perfect set for our star product. Hundreds of cars were sorted through, as well as having custom adjustable windows built for the office set background. The pictures look absolutely amazing! Congratulations to artist, Di Andreoni, and producer, Sherry Merola, for hosting yet another exciting event! Over 100 guest had a blast celebrating life over food and drinks while being surrounded by Di Andreoni’s colorful paintings of passion and emotion. Some even decided to dance it out! The event was a silent auction in memory of Di's sister, Paula Lee Andreoni, to raise money to fight addiction through Passages Malibu/Venture, an addiction cure facility. Thank you to all those who attended and donated to their cause.

Maes Studio recently returned from an expedition to the Ahuachapan region of El Salvador near the Guatemala border. The purpose of the trip was to explore the production of Rain Forest Alliance Certified Organic Coffee. Santa Teresa Coffee Mill is the world's only eco-friedly coffee mill to use geothermal energy. It utilizes the volcanic geysers and thermal water springs of it's natural surroundings to produce the top premium gormet organic coffee brand in the world. The crew was graciously hosted by Marcos Batres in his tropical estate atop an active volcano.

"A Real Art Show"

In October we opened up our doors for a one-night only art show titled, "A Real Art Show," showcasing work by 7 artists creating anywhere from painting and photography to functional furniture pieces. Some local, yet some artists traveled from afar to be a part of the exhibition. We had a great turnout and thank all of you who attended!

We were invited to join Atedge this year and are honored to be a part of this striking sourcebook. The Atedge team hosted a great face-to-face party on the rooftop at the Dana Hotel that we attended back in May. It was a room full of Art Buyers, Creative directors and Photographers- so lots of exciting networking.

If you live in Chicago and have not eaten at Smith and Wollensky, we suggest that you do. We recently shot all of the images for the new Smith and Wollensky summer menu. This restaurant has a fantastic view over the Chicago River, and offers excellent food as well as fantastic customer service! Images will be up on our site soon.

New Beer Launch!

Maes Studio shot all of the images for the new launch of Victoria beer. The Victoria brand was previously launched in Mexico, but as of last month Victoria is now sold exclusively in Chicago. Because Victoria was not being sold in the States, we had to have a special keg brought to the studio - very confidential!

New Agency

This spring was the perfect time to do some traveling to agencies out on the west coast. Our few days traveling were booked with meetings, however, that did not stop us from doing some well-deserved sightseeing. We look forward to visiting more agencies in the Midwest the beginning of August. Stay tuned!

Shooting for the World Cup McDonald's campaign was a success and we owe much of that to our wonderful food stylist, Liza Brown. Man oh man can she compose a burger! When the team asked Liza how she makes the signature Big Mac look so good she stated, "Time and patience is key. I look forward to seeing my finished piece so I work hard to accomplish that goal." Thank you Liza for a job well done!

We all had the opportunity to work with the Corona brand earlier this year, which gave us a chance to catch up with good friends and give "cheers" to a job well done. We recently loaded up our cars and traveled to Barrington, IL where we focused on shooting interiors for the day. The modern home we chose to shoot at was ideal because of its natural daylight, collection of original works of art, and vast amount of contemporary furniture. A day of shooting resulted in great imagery for our interior collection. Photos will be up on our site soon!

We started out 2010 with a bang! With a newly renovated studio space, we have opened our doors to the fine art world. Because many of our clients and friends come from a fine art background, we are now thrilled to feature some of their work. Our first opening showcased Diane Pomierski’s paintings in an exhibition titled Sexo-Expo, and what a great turnout we had for her first show! We look forward to posting more on our blog about upcoming events.
